Opening day of ACU English courses in St Thomas Chaldean cathedral

Under the patronage of His Grace Archbishop Mar Amel Nona, along with the cooperation of ACU ( Australian Catholic University), St Thomas Chaldean Cathedral had held the opening day of the free (English courses) that been organised to help the new arrivals with learning at least the basic English skills and encourage them to become more confident about how to engage within the new society and culture around them.
Last Thursday evening 22/2/2018 Fr. Rody Sitto who welcomed the ACU teachers on behalf of His Grace who was unable to attend, and also welcomed all our parishioners who came in to start their course.
The event included welcoming students and teachers by Fr. Rody, a talk by the teachers introducing themselves and the program, a simple test to distinguish the levels and set up classes groups, a light dinner and then the first class.
We highly encourage all the participants who enrolled in for their efforts to improve their language. We also thanks ACU stuff and administration for their cooperation with us in organising this important project for our parish.
